“Self-Government” or “Tyrannical Government”

All societies of men must be governed in some way or other.

The less they may have of stringent State Government, the more they must have of individual self-government.

The less they rely on public law or physical force, the more they must rely on private moral restraint.

Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled, either by a power within them, or by a power without them; either by the Word of God, or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible, or by the bayonet.

It may do for other countries and other governments to talk about the State supporting religion. Here, under our own free institutions, it is Religion which must support the State.

  1. Oh, and by “Religion”, he meant “the Church”, not any false religion.

    Totally sweet.

  2. Steve, I ‘ve been following this on WND since they broke the story – I honestly don’t think this thing will hold up in higher courts (California or US Supreme Court) – this court in LA is very liberal and gets its decisions turned around regularly.

It does go to show however that judicial tyranny is looming in America.

The real issue is a jurisdictional issue – the state is increasingly sees children as “their children” over parents.

Thankfully the homeschooling community is politically loud!, they mobilize quickly and have been known to march on state capitols and melt down the switchboards of politicians, they have Arnold’s ear now:

Check these stories out: Liberals in Germany want to stamp out “parallel societies” – could this be the same motivation that liberals have here? (I think so):

It is essential we politically fight this stuff, our children belong to the Lord and not to the state!
